Based on the latest data from Indonesia’s Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the nation’s annual headline inflation rate increased 3.23 percent year-on-year (y/y) in November 2018. The result is higher than we had anticipated and also implies that Indonesia’s consumer price index has now accelerated for a second straight month.
Manufacturing activity in Indonesia continued to expand in November 2018. However, the pace of expansion slowed further, for the third straight month, and the November reading was in fact the lowest reading of the past five months.
On Wednesday (28.11.2018) preliminary findings related to the investigation into the fatal crash of Lion Air flight JT610 were reported by investigators to Indonesian parliament. The crash, which killed all 189 people on board (including crew), occurred 13 minutes after the Boeing 737 Max took off from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in the early morning of 29 October 2018.
