  • Wika Beton Preparing IPO on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in Q1-2014

    Wika Beton, a subsidiary of majority state-owned construction company Wijaya Karya, will sell over 20 percent of its enlarged capital in an initial public offering (IPO) on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in the first quarter of 2014. The company, which has appointed Bahana Securities, Mandiri Sekuritas, Danareksa Sekuritas and Sucorinvest Central Gani to act as underwriters for the IPO, expects a 20 percent increase (yoy) in revenue to IDR 2.4 trillion in 2013, and targets a similar growth rate in 2014.

    On Wednesday (15/01), the first new listing of 2014 on the Indonesia Stock Exchange was conducted. Bank Panin Syariah, provider of Islamic banking services and subsidiary of Bank Panin, became a listed company (with listed company code PNBS). Through the initial public offering (IPO), the financial institution is looking for additional capital to meet the central bank's requirement to become a BUKU 2 type of bank (see explanation below). The company aims to reap IDR 475 billion (USD $39.6 million) through the release of 4.75 billion shares.

    Same as last year's result, the Indonesia Stock Exchange expects 30 Indonesian companies to conduct an initial public offering (IPO) in 2014. Ito Warsito, Director of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), said that 15 companies are targeted to become listed on the exchange in the first half of 2014. In January 2014, Link Net, Bank Panin Syariah, Bank Ina Perdana as well as Asuransi Mitra Maparya are expected to become listed companies as they have already been granted approval for this corporate action.

  • Popular Trading Debut for Sawit Sumbermas Sarana on Stock Exchange

    Sawit Sumbermas Sarana (SSMS), a palm oil plantation company that conducted its initial public offering (IPO) on the Indonesia Stock Exchange on Thursday (12/12), aims for a 15 percent growth (yoy) in net profit in 2014 to IDR 207 billion (USD $17.3 million) as the price of crude palm oil (CPO) is expected to improve. The company's listing on the stock exchange (IDX) was a success, rising almost 12 percent on its debut, supported by foreign enthusiasm. Foreign institutional investors bought 81 percent of the stocks that were issued.

  • Indomobil Multi Jasa is the 28th IPO on Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2013

    Yesterday (10/12), the 28th initial public listing (IPO) in 2013 on Indonesia's Stock Exchange was conducted. Financing company Indomobil Multi Jasa - with company code IMJS - offered 450 million shares, or 10.4 percent of its stake, to the public with a price tag of IDR 500 per share. The company is a subsidiary of Indomobil Sukses Internasional (IMAS), Indonesia's second-largest automotive distributor after Astra International. Through the IPO, the company aims to obtain IDR 225 billion for business expansion.

  • Telkom's Telekomunikasi Seluler (Telkomsel) May Conduct IPO in 2014

    In order to raise new funds for business expansion, PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Telkom) is considering to list its subsidiary Telekomunikasi Seluler (Telkomsel) on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2014. Through its Telkomsel unit, Telkom is Indonesia’s leading provider of mobile telecommunications and digital data services. The company currently has around 125 million cellular subscribers in a sector where rife competition for cellular subscribers has limited net profits. Telkom, however, is the only Indonesian operator that posts strong growth.

    As all spotlights this week were - and still are - focused on the 2014 Indonesian presidential election, it almost passed unnoticeably that five Indonesian companies will be listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) this week.     In the first half of 2014, 13 Indonesian companies conducted an initial public offering (IPO), including one relisting, on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX).   • Week Full of New Company Listings on the Indonesia Stock Exchange

    After Bank Panin Syariah became Indonesia's first newly listed company on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in the year 2014, it was quickly followed by four more listings in this past week. On Thursday (16/01), three new listings were conducted - Asuransi Mitra Maparya (ASMI), Bank Ina Perdana (BINA) and Capitol Nusantara Indonesia (CANI) - as well as one relisting - Tunas Alfin (TALF). The latter had delisted from the Surabaya Stock Exchange in December 2009 after the exchanges of Jakarta and Surabaya merged into the IDX.

  • Two Indonesian Airlines Plan Corporate Actions for Business Expansion

    Garuda Indonesia, the country's top-class airline, is planning to conduct a rights issue in the first quarter of 2014. Through this corporate action, which has already been approved by the shareholders, the state-controlled company aims to raise IDR 2 trillion (USD $162.6 million). For 2014, the airline plans to allocate IDR 4 trillion in capital expenditure (capex) for business expansion. About half of this amount should originate from funds generated through the rights issue.

    Five more new public listings are expected on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in the remainder of 2013 despite the current less rosy macroeconomic environment in Indonesia.     For the third day in a row, Indonesia's main stock index (IHSG) made a strong upward jump on Friday (28/06). Supported by strong American and European stock indices on the previous trading day, the IHSG rose 3.06 percent to 4,818.90 points. American and European indices mostly rose on Thursday (27/06) due to various positive macroeconomic data from the USA.     Garuda Indonesia, one of the major airlines in Indonesia, has announced to conduct a rights issue in October 2013. Through the rights issue, which involves the issuance of 10 percent of new shares, Garuda aims to reap USD $200 million. Garuda was a fully state-owned company before its initial public offering (IPO) in early 2011 when it released 30 percent of its shares. However, Indonesia's House of Representatives (DPR) had approved total public offering up to 40 percent. The remaining 10 percent is now offered through the rights issuance.

    State-owned cement producer Semen Baturaja invites investors to its initial public offering (IPO) between 29 May and 7 June 2013 at the Ritz Carlton Pacific Place in Jakarta. Through this IPO, the company offers 2.34 billion shares (about 23.76 percent of its stock equity) to the public with an initial price target of IDR 500 - 685 per share (USD $0.05 - $0.07).
