Business Summary
The three strategic investments of the MNC Investama's businesses are media, financial services and energy and natural resources.
The media business is one of the key sectors in the company and is grouped into three business segments which are integrated under Global Mediacom, to wit content and advertising-based media, subscriber-based media and media support and infrastructure. MNC Investama is the leading media company in Indonesia.
Through its sub-holding company, MNC Kapital Indonesia (MNC Financial Services), which manages the companies that operate in the capital market and insurance sectors, the company is developing a ‘financial supermarket’ with a comprehensive range of integrated products and services that offer added value: securities brokerage, underwriting services, investment managing services, research and business development, general insurance, life insurance, and consumer financing.
In recent years, the company has been active to develop new businesses in the natural resources sector, particularly coal mining, oil and gas. This business diversification followed the acquisition of 51 percent shares of Nuansacipta Coal Investment (NCI) and Mandatory Exchangeable Bond which are exchangeable into 55 percent ownership of Bhakti Coal Resources (BCR) through MNC Energi. Since 2012, the whole activities of the company’s energy and mining business have been consolidated into one sub holding company, MNC Energi.
