Particularly after the World Health Organization (or WHO) officially labelled the COVID-19 outbreak a “pandemic” on 11 March 2020 and a growing number of nations started imposing restrictions on the movement of people and economic activity, markets entered deep red territory.
As financial market turbulence has reached extreme levels over the last several weeks, recent events have severely limited this year’s prospects for economic growth in both developed markets and emerging markets.
