Bumi Plc Dispute; Rothschild versus Bakrie Group

In 2010, financier Nathaniel Rothschild and the Bakrie Group founded London-listed Bumi Plc in a USD $3 billion deal that included a 29 percent stake in Bumi Resources. Not long after, however, Rothschild accused Bumi Resources of financial irregularities, causing a rift between both sides. After three years of dispute, the terms for the separation deal were finalized in March 2014.
