Bond Market Indonesia: Weak Demand for ORI014 Retail Bonds
The latest series of (conventional) Indonesian Retail Bonds (in Indonesian: Obligasi Ritel Indonesia, or ORI) was poorly absorbed by Indonesian retail investors. According to the latest available data, only IDR 8.95 trillion (approx. USD $663 million) was invested in the ORI014 series that was on sale between 29 September and 19 October 2017.

Indonesia Steps Up ORI and Sukri Bond Issuances in 2016
The Indonesian government will increase retail bond issuances in 2016. Robert Pakpahan, General Director of Debt Management at the Ministry of Finance, said the government will issue conventional retail bonds, known as ORI (Obligasi Negara Ritel Indonesia), twice in 2016. Furthermore, the government plans two rounds of sharia-compliant government retail bond (Sukuk Negara Ritel, or abbreviated Sukri) issuances next year. These bonds are only available to domestic investors.

Bond Market Indonesia: Government Starts Selling Conventional Retail Bonds Today
In order to tackle an estimated shortfall of more than IDR 260 trillion (approx. USD $17.5 billion) in the 2015 State Budget, the Indonesian government starts selling government bonds to Indonesian retail investors today (21/09). In the original 2015 State Budget the government projected a deficit of 1.9 percent of the country’s gross domestic product (GDP). Recently, this figure was raised to 2.23 percent of GDP due to disappointing tax revenue amid weak economic growth.

Financial Markets Indonesia: ORI Bonds & Rupiah Performance in 2014
On Monday (20/10), Indonesia raised IDR 21.2 trillion (about USD $1.8 billion) from the sale of rupiah-denominated retail bonds (Obligasi Negara Ritel Indonesia, abbreviated ORI). This is not only the country’s largest ORI-bond sale ever, but also the largest bond sale in 2014 so far. ORI, which is usually issued once per year, is a bond that is issued specifically to Indonesian retail investors/individuals. The ORI series ORI011 was offered in the period 1-16 October 2014 with a coupon rate of 8.5 percent and a tenor of three years.

Between 29 September and 19 October 2017, the Indonesian government offers its new series of (conventional) Indonesian Retail Bonds (in Indonesian: Obligasi Ritel Indonesia, or ORI) to Indonesian retail investors. Since 2006 the Indonesian government has been issuing ORI bonds, at least once per year, to finance the government's state budget.

Pemerintah Indonesia Kembali Tawarkan ORI kepada Investor
Untuk memperkuat basis investor domestik dan memenuhi pembiayaan APBN-P 2014, pemerintah Indonesia kembali menawarkan Obligasi Negara Ritel Indonesia (ORI). Ini adalah kali ke-11, pemerintah menerbitkan ORI sejak obligasi tersebut diluncurkan pada tahun 2006. ORI berseri ORI011 tersebut mulai ditawarkan pada 1-16 Oktober 2014. Tingkat kupon yang ditawarkan ORI011 sebesar 8,5% dengan tenor selama tiga tahun. Minimum pemesanan yang diperbolehkan adalah Rp5 juta sementara maksimum pemesanan adalah Rp3 miliar per individu.
