Erick Thohir, Indonesian Minister of State-Owned Enterprises, confirmed that a merger is being planned between three state-owned airlines, namely: (1) Garuda Indonesia, (2) Citilink Indonesia, and (3) Pelita Air. This corporate action is targeted to be completed before the end of 2025
Possibly the biggest story in local Indonesian media over the past couple of days (if we exclude coverage of any COVID-19-related matters) is the news that Gojek is in talks (in fact in the final stages, reportedly) to merge with Tokopedia. Based on the input of people familiar with the matter, the two companies have agreed to conduct due diligence on their respective businesses.

For foreign investors a M&A deal is one of the strategies to enter Indonesia. Up to early November, the total value of M&A deals in Indonesia in 2015 stood at USD $3.53 billion.
