  • Pefindo: Value of Indonesia's Debt Paper to Reach IDR 90 trillion in 2016

    Indonesian credit rating agency Pefindo (Pemeringkat Efek Indonesia) says the value of issued debt paper in Indonesia may reach IDR 90 trillion (approx. USD $6.8 billion), up 34 percent from the IDR 67 trillion worth of debt paper that was issued in Indonesia last year. Debt paper involves bonds, sukuk (Islamic bonds), and medium term notes. So far this year, Pefindo has been tasked to rate up to IDR 44.1 trillion worth of debt paper, while debt paper that has been issued up to May totaled IDR 25 trillion (approx. USD $1.9 billion).

  • Five New Listed Indonesian Companies Added to the Pefindo25 Index

    Five listed Indonesian companies have been added to the Pefindo25 Index, an index compiled by Indonesian credit rating agency Pefindo (Pemeringkat Efek Indonesia). Companies that are eligible to join the Pefindo25 Index are small and medium enterprises (SMEs) - listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) - that contain good fundamental performance and liquidity. The Pefindo25 Index consists of a total of 25 Indonesian companies and is reviewed and revised twice per year.

The Pefindo25 Index, which is tracked by yahoo finance, represents stocks of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) - listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) - that possess good fundamental performances and liquidity. The composition of the index, which contains 25 stocks, is reviewed and revised two times per year.

  • Indofood Reports 10 Percent Growth in Net Sales Due to Domestic Consumption

    Indofood Sukses Makmur (Indofood), Indonesia's largest food processing company and the world's largest producer of instant noodles, posted net sales of IDR 50.06 trillion (US $5.1 billion) over 2012, a 10.4 percent increase compared to 2011. Its Consumer Branded Products Group (CBP) continued to be the largest contributor to its net sales, contributing around 43 percent, followed by Bogasari (25 percent), Agribusiness (24 percent) and Distribution (8 percent).

  • Debt Restructuring Trikomsel Oke, S&P Warns of Indonesian Defaults

    American financial services company Standard & Poor's warns that defaults by Indonesian companies are a serious threat over the next 18 months given their eroded balance sheets amid the country's current economic slowdown. The warning came after Indonesian mobile phone retailer Trikomsel Oke announced plans to restructure about USD $155 million worth of debt as it may not be capable to meet obligations indefinitely.
