What Do We Discuss in the Report?

Similar to the August 2025 edition, a number of topics in the September 2025 edition are related to the massive demonstrations that took place in late August 2025 and early September 2025. For example, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto went for a cabinet reshuffle, likely in an effort to ease people's concern. However, considering highly regarded Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati was replaced in this reshuffle, one could also argue that Prabowo wants less fiscally prudent governance as this would allow the cabinet to spend more money on specific government programs. That would explain why a number of loyalists were appointed into high positions.

Another topic in this report involves the electric vehicle. While sales of electric cars continue to be strong around the world, it does seem that these sales are experiencing a hiccup (especially outside China). This makes it interesting to take a closer look at this topic.

Meanwhile, state sovereign wealth fund Danantara made its debut in the bond market, with its "Patriot Bond". While this bond carries a very low coupon rate, it managed to generate high demand through a private placement.
