Fast Food Indonesia: Rising Earnings on KFC Outlet Expansion
Fast Food Indonesia, the only franchise holder of the Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) brand in Indonesia, added five new KFC outlets in the first quarter of 2017. This is a mediocre result considering the company targets to open a total of 30 new KFC stores across Indonesia in full-year 2017. With the five additional outlets in Q1-2017 Fast Food Indonesia now operates 580 KFC outlets across the Archipelago.

Dyviacom Intrabumi Takes Over Salim Stake in Three Retail Companies
PT Dyviacom Intrabumi Tbk, an Indonesian internet services provider, has announced to leave the information technology sector as it has not shown significant growth and instead focus on Indonesia's lucrative (food) consumption sector. For that reason it will purchase large stakes in three companies that are engaged in the country's food industry: Indomarco Prismatama, Fast Food Indonesia, and Nippon Indosari Corpindo. The combined costs amount to IDR 6.7 trillion (USD $690.7 million).

When on 11 March 2016 an Indonesian man died while participating in a chicken eating contest organized by O2 Accion in outlets of fast-food company Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) Indonesia, shares of Fast Food Indonesia came under pressure. Fast Food Indonesia, the franchise holder of the KFC brand in Indonesia, is one of the nation's leading fast food companies and operates the popular KFC chain in Southeast Asia's largest economy. However, in the first week of April shares of Fast Food Indonesia soared significantly on the back of better-than-expected revenue.
