  • Sampoerna Agro Best Indonesian Plantation Company in Terms of Revenue

    Only five plantation companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) managed to post higher revenue in the first quarter of 2016 (compared to the same quarter one year earlier). Of the 14 plantation companies listed on the IDX, four still need to publish their Q1-2016 corporate earnings (Golden Plantation, Sawit Sumbermas Sarana, Multi Agro Gemilang Plantation, and Tunas Baru Lampung). Sampoerna Agro was the company with the highest revenue growth among Indonesia's listed plantation companies in Q1-2016.

  • Indonesian Crude Palm Oil Producers Post Good Financial Results in Q1-2014

    Indonesian companies engaged in the production of crude palm oil (CPO) recorded impressive financial figures in the first quarter of 2014. Combined, 13 CPO companies that are listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange posted IDR 3 trillion (USD $260.9 million) in net profits over the first quarter of 2014, a 116.1 percentage growth from the same period last year. Main reasons for this growth are the sharply depreciated Indonesian rupiah exchange rate in combination with the rising global CPO price and looming new El Niño cycle.

  • Indonesian Stocks and Rupiah Exchange Rate Down on Oil Concerns

    The benchmark stock index of Indonesia (Jakarta Composite Index, abbreviated IHSG) declined 0.34 percent to 4,847.70 points on Friday (20/06). Trade was thin on this week’s last trading day with only about 3.4 billion shares - valued at IDR 3.8 trillion (USD $319 million) - being traded on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (well below the average daily value of IDR 6.1 trillion). Foreign investors accounted for 48 percent of total trading, recording net buying worth of IDR 31.3 billion (USD $2.6 million).
